The global pandemic had given MRCS a significant display of our humanitarian roles as frontliners in both national and local led actions. Meanwhile, there were also some opportunities missed for lack of resources, failure to leverage potential support and enormous creativity of individuals, local communities and stakeholders to develop innovative solutions to support our social service programs. It should be a calling for more and focus investment for branches to develop itself to do better and more effectively in their service delivery to the vulnerable in times of crisis.

The MRCS Governance Leadership Workshop, participated by committee members from MRC Sarawak Chapter and all Branches, aims to:

  1. Prepare participants for organizational change and enable it to effectively and efficiently manage the change from incremental to transformational
  2. Lay the foundation for a new and innovative organization with strong and well-functioning branches that are able to fulfil its mandate through the provision of sustainable humanitarian services to vulnerable communities in Sarawak
  3. Provide the participants with the necessary elements for understanding and fulfilling a leadership role within the MRC Branches

The workshop was facilitated by Mr Mukesh Singh (from International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent), Mr John Lam (Vice Chairperson, MRC Sarawak Chapter) and Mr Tan Lay Yen (Hon Secretary, MRC Miri Branch).

All participants were presented a Certificate of Attendance.
