MALAYSIAN RED CRESCENT SARAWAK CONVENTION 2025
Theme: “Safe to School, Safe to Home”
The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Sarawak Convention is an annual statewide gathering organised by the Malaysian Red Crescent Sarawak Chapter. Hosted by MRC Sri Aman Branch, this year’s theme is “Safe to School, Safe to Home”.
At this year’s Convention, our cadets and adult members came together for an impactful learning session on road safety and accident prevention – a topic that touches every family and community.
The workshop emphasized that road safety is a shared responsibility – not only for drivers, but also for parents, teachers, school authorities, and local governments. Every individual plays a vital role in creating safer journeys for our children.
- Parents were reminded to be role models by practicing safe road behaviour, such as using child seats, proper crossings, and obeying traffic rules.
- Schools were encouraged to strengthen road safety education through regular awareness programs and traffic drills.
- Drivers were urged to stay alert, avoid speeding near school zones, and be mindful of pedestrians.
- Local authorities were called to ensure safer infrastructure — from proper signage to pedestrian crossings and school zone markings.
The session concluded with a strong message:
“Every child deserves to leave home safely and return home safely.”
Through continuous awareness and collective action, the Malaysian Red Crescent Sarawak Chapter remains committed to nurturing a culture of safety, responsibility, and care on our roads.
Let’s all play our part — because road safety starts with us.
