Started back in April 2022, the HOTSPOT 999 aims to deliver medical emergency response in less than 15 minutes, or if possible, 10 minutes, in line with international standards. Ambulances despatched from the nearest Hotspot base would be able to bring early emergency care to the scene.
In any emergency incidents, time is the essence to provide professional pre-hospital care and the immediate patient transfer to a medical facility. This concept of Hotspot 999 Ambulance Service is to reduce the response time from the moment an ambulance is despatch to the reach the scene.
The Hotspot 999 ambulance service cased was officiated by Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam, Chairperson, MRC Sarawak.
Currently based at Mydin Mall Samariang, the crew consists of 6 members are operating on 2 shifts, from 7am to 3pm and 3pm to 11pm. They attend to average 40 cases on a monthly basis.
This is a community social project that deserve a holistic support from the Government, corporate sectors, civil society organizations and the community. MRC Sarawak hopes that well-meaning supporters and benefactors, particularly from Semariang could come forth to render whatever assistance or support they could. Any effort is significant and most welcome and could contribute immensely to the organization for the better good of the community.
