The 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) centre located at MRC Miri Branch is fully managed by a group of dedicated volunteers. Its objective is to promote environmental conservation while providing opportunities for low income group access to household needs. The centre accepts donation of used clothing, household items, office items and other non-food items, after which the volunteers need to sort, polish and recycle the items. The items are then displayed and sold at the centre at a much lower price.
This is indeed a very innovative concept which addressES various needs from different aspects – people wanting to dispose off their items, senior citizens who want to volunteer, buyers who are from lower income group as well as fund raised via this projects.
Kudos to all volunteers who selflessly contribute to this project.
